The ability of the human mind involves many aspects. We want to discuss only a very few selected abilities, namely perceiving and recognizing objects, perceiving and understanding persons and conscious experiences. Do AI systems have these abilities, to which degree and how may they develop in future AI systems? For these mental phenomena we aim to always start with the some relevant theory in the case of the human mind and then compare it with the abilities of AI systems. This should result in a systematic comparison of the cognitive profile of humans and AI systems focusing on some key abilities. Furthermore, we aim to highlight some central challenges for the future of AI system as part of social interaction in everyday life. The philosophical aim is to study central theories about specific cognitive abilities and to develop a first outline of comparing humans and AI systems.
